You might have heard it already. SNAP 10 has been released. 🎉
We had to wait almost two years for this release. If you know wonder if it was worth the wait, I have prepared something for you.

If you haven't done yet, you can download SNAP from the STEP website.
The release now allows me to release my plugins as well. So, stay tuned in the coming days.

EOMasters Plugins Are about to Be Released
Since SNAP 10 is now released I can now release my plugins too. IN the coming days they will be available vie the Plugin Manager in SNAP. I'll do some final testing and then they will go online.
You can expect the EOMasters Toolbox and DAVALIEN.
The toolbox will provide a collection of various tools which help to ease the daily work and to save valuable time. DAVALIEN provides an environment for validating EO data. Not only validating the data but also the generating process. If you want to know more, please follow the links.

Access ESA Campaign Data
ESA conducts airborne, ship-borne, balloon-borne, and ground-based campaigns and small satellite field experiments. During these campaign dataset are created and ESA makes them accessible. Now ESA provides a detailed guide on how to access datasets from ESA’s Campaigns.
Four new Ideas to Expand Earth Explorer Missions Selected
ESA's Advisory Committee for Earth Observation (ACEO) recommended that four of the 17 bids move ahead to the assessment study phase.
CryoRad seeks to improve measurements of polar regions by using a new radiometer to assess ice conditions and sea-surface salinity.
ECO aims to track Earth’s energy balance by measuring incoming and outgoing radiation, potentially forecasting climate trends much earlier than existing techniques.
Hydroterra+ is designed for geostationary orbit to offer bi-daily data on Europe, the Mediterranean, and northern Africa, utilizing C-band radar to monitor water cycles and tectonic activities.
Keystone is set to make pioneering observations of atomic oxygen between 50–150 km altitude, and will monitor atmospheric composition, temperature, and winds to analyze the mesosphere-lower-thermosphere’s dynamics and energy.
Save the Date! Destination Earth Goes Live
The launch event for the Destination Earth System will be held on Monday 10 June 2024 in the LUMI Supercomputer Center in Kajaani, Finland. It will take place as a hybrid event and everyone can join the live stream.
Destination Earth (DestinE) is the European Commission's flagship program to create a highly realistic digital model of the Earth at a global scale. This model will track, simulate, and forecast the interactions of natural phenomena and human activities.
Planet Insights Platform Started
The Planet Insights Platform has recently be announced and it is the all-in-one place for unifying Planet's product portfolio and the power of Sentinel Hub, which has been acquired last year. Combining the analysis-ready Earth data products with cloud-based analytics and tools will allow users to efficiently analyze, stream, and distribute data.

SNAP 10 Released
FINALLY! Version 10 of ESA SNAP has been released!
But was it worth the wait? Read in my blog what has changed and what has been added in this version.
If you are using Ubuntu and using the snap package manager, you should be careful when uninstalling SNAP 9. Read these instructions from the developers. See link below

Beyond EO
Preferred Background Noise When Working at Home
When you are working at home, do you like to have some background noise? Maybe some music? Some say they miss the noice in the office when they work at home.
Or do you have children playing in your background and that's enough noise 🙂.
Most of the time I like to work with calm classical music. This helps me to stay focused. But sometimes it needs harder music (pop, rock, metal, rap, ...).
I've recently tried artificial office ambiance sounds. There are several source which can provide you office sounds, or forest sounds. But that's not really for me. I get why some people like it, but I like music more.
I've collceted some source of music which you might like.
The library piano is my favourite.
