Happy New Year everyone!
It is already the middle of January and I hope your year has started well and if not, rest assured that it will get better. I'm looking forward to finally releasing my first software to you. I am just waiting for the release of SNAP 10.

CryoSat Data Products Delayed
The delivery of CryoSat data products is currently delayed. This is due to a technical issue at the Payload Data Ground Segment (PDGS). The issue is currently under investigation.
GEOSAT collaborates with ESA to boost understanding of the planet
GEOSAT datasets are currently being disseminated via the TPM programme and more data are expected to be made available in the coming months. GEOSAT-2 provides resolutions of up to 40 cm by using artificial intelligence.
Copernicus Thematic Hubs in the Limelight
In November 2023 the Copernicus Thematic Hubs were launched. A series of articles will show case the Copernicus hubs in closer detail. In the first article an overview of the health, coastal, energy and arctic hubs is provided.
Recent Landsat 8 Acquisitions Need to be Reprocessed
Some Landsat 8 products created from data collected between January 1st and January 6th, 2024, must be corrected due to a problem with radiometric values that were changed in a recent Landsat 8 CPF file. The wrong gain adjustment affected the coastal aerosol Band 1 by about 0.3 percent and the blue Band 2 by about 0.1 percent.
In total, 4,272 Landsat 8 Level-1 products are affected and need to be fixed.
Virtual Event – How Satellites Monitor Atmospheric Methane
You can now register for a virtual event about monitoring atmospheric methane by satellites. The importance of these observations and campaigns to monitor methane are discussed.
It'll take place on January 22nd at 19:00 CET (01:00 pm ET)

Esri ArcGis News
Esri highlights the new features of the ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Engine v1.3. These are besides other feature enhancements Geocoding and Network Analysis. The geocoding allows to turn geo-coordinates into addresses and reverse. The network analysis tools allow using network datasets (roads, railways, utilities, etc.) to answer questions about connectivity and proximity.

Why Keeping a Streak Boosts Your Motivation
This is an article of personal interest. I'm currently on a rowing kick. I have had a water rowing machine at home for a few years. I used it from time to time. But I was disappointed that I didn't use it regularly. They say you need 90 days to get into the habit. So I started my current rowing streak.
Today my streak is 40 days long and every day I write it down in a chart. I can say that it is really motivating. Seeing the streak grow gives me a boost and I don't want to break it. Writing down my rowing performance and seeing how it increases is also very motivating.
