I told you in the last newsletter about the EOpedia project already. Meanwhile I have announced it officially and I've released a plugin to allow searching EOpedia directly from within SNAP.

ESA's Top EO Stories in 2024
ESA collected the eight top stories of 2024. The articles are worth reading and it is a nice recap of the last year. The stories cover the reentry of ERS-2, the solar eclipse over North America and many more.
NISAR Satellite Will Offer Unique Observations

The NISAR satellite, a collaboration between NASA and ISRO, will provide unprecedented insights into Earth's changing land and ice surfaces. With dual-band radar technology, NISAR will track everything from earthquakes to glacier movements, offering invaluable data for science and disaster response.
CDSE Users Satisfaction Survey 2024
Again, ESA needs your feedback to further improve the CDSE service. The online questionnaire takes about 5 minutes to complete.
UK Space Conference 2025 -
Early Bird Tickets
The early bird tickets for the UK Space Conference 2025 are now available. The prices range from £250 (small business) to £450 plus VAT for a full pass.
The conference takes place from the 16-17 July in Manchester.

sen2lasrc - Python tools to download and process Sentinel-2
This package contains methods to apply LaSRC atmospheric correction to Sentinel-2 L1C images, as well as Fmask and S2cloudless masks computation and combination. LaSRC method was developped by Vermote et al.

New Glenn about to be launched

The launch of the New Glenn rocket is currently scheduled for January 13. It has a three-hour window starting at 1 a.m. EST (06:00 UTC).
This rocket is special because of its size. It is 98 meters tall and can carry up to 45 tons. It has reusable first-stage booster. New Glenn has a wider payload fairing compared to other rockets, allowing it to carry larger objects into space.
The rocket is named after John Glenn, the first American to orbit Earth in 1962.
