Of course, I also share what I do with you.
I'm currently creating a coastal map at a global scale and at 10m resolution. The map will indicate land and water, the coastline, intertidal areas and more. It will be made available in the month to come.

Sentinel-3 Hydro-Cryo Validation Report is Available
From March to October 2023, a full mission reprocessing was carried out using the new thematic processors. The purpose of the Validation Report is to report the validation performed on the reprocessed data set, verify data quality, and report to end users. The publication also describes the results obtained with the new Hydro-Cryo Thematic Products.
NovaSAR-1 Announcement of Opportunity: ESA encourages S-band applications
NovaSAR-1 is a small radar satellite developed in the UK, operating at S-band frequency. One key application area of the S-band is agricultural monitoring. Other applications include flood monitoring, forest monitoring, land cover classification, disaster management and maritime applications.
ESA is now offering possibilities to develop new applications in the S-band microwave frequency range, with a new Announcement of Opportunity for NovaSAR-1 data. You can submit your proposal until 20 December 2024.
An in-depth look at the Copernicus Energy Thematic Hub
The Energy Hub is a platform that provides data and information on energy-related topics, such as renewable energy sources, climate variables, and electricity demand.
The data allows users to explore historical and projected data on various parameters that affect the suitability of locations for renewable energy investment, such as wind speed, solar radiation, and temperature.
Sentinels and AI reveal 75% of fishing vessels not tracked
The study used five years of data from the Copernicus Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 missions, along with GPS information, to identify vessels that had not reported their positions. It also applied machine learning to the data to determine which vessels were fishing. This analysis identified 'dark fleets' of fishing vessels that were not being tracked by public tracking systems. This 'dark fleet' makes up to 75% of the world’s industrial fishing vessels.
The study helps to understand the scale and impact of human activity at sea, and to address issues such as illegal fishing.
